Seriously checking out the candidates and eliminating a few desirable contenders (such as the Mercedes ML350) we came down to a Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ largely because it is the ubiquitous American SUV that can be fixed and repaired just about anywhere. With a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs. and more importantly a tongue weight spec of 1,000 lbs. it fits the bill! Unbelievable number of features on this vehicle such as air conditioned and heated seats, four different transmission settings, transmission oil temperature display, tire pressure display, remote start, SatNav, satellite OnStar monitoring and Sat Radio, and blind spot proximity alerts....
