Amazing that you have to crush one ton of quartz to get one ounce of gold. Hard work extracting the vertical 18" wide quartz rock vein from this mountain in Julian and processing it. This mine was worked for nearly 100 years and the yield was marginal. Bumped my head several times on low roof!
