Ajo Street art

Once the huge copper mine left town in the 80's leaving a 1.5 mile wide pit they excavated over 60 years there was not much left! Ajo revived itself by becoming an arts center in the desert with mixed success. Attractive architecture in the town center helped but the vicious summer temperatures has to be a deterrent.... some of the business box structures have been energized with some splendid mural art....
